Summary
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for providing electrical
services to include installation, maintenance and repair activities
to facilities and equipment to ensure safety and compliance to
production schedules are met. Manages maintenance activities of all
electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and controls.
This is a 2nd shift role. Hours: Monday-Friday, 1:00pm-9:00pm
Responsibilities
Safety
Complies with safety policies and regulations. Assesses job hazards
independently. Authors and executes LOTO and other safety
permits.
Understands and practices operational instrumentation and
electrical safety concepts and techniques.
Reports safety incidents and near misses.
Maintenance
Supports, improves, maintains, and troubleshoots control and power
systems equipment and instrumentation.
Authors, maintains, plans for electronic equipment including,
installs, repairs, and modifies electronic equipment, and their
associated schematics and wiring diagrams. As-built schematics as
needed.
Maintains up to date knowledge of modern technology and electrical
standards.
Remains up to date on NFPA and other applicable safety practices
and procedures.
Ensures that electrical systems adhere to the national electrical
safety standards and regulations.
Supports new and ongoing electrical system installations and
provides technical expertise to installation teams where
needed.
Uses blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's installation
manuals to complete projects.
Works with project team to build new control panels, run conduit,
wire new devices, and startup new equipment.
Analyzes and corrects malfunctioning electrical /electronic
equipment, variable frequency drives, generators, generator
controls/monitoring devices, motor control centers & motors,
transformers, switchgear, power supplies, converters, and safety
relays.
Prepares contractor job plans to include auditing work area, and
provide any necessary tools and equipment required.
Plans layout of new wiring and equipment utilizing job
specifications and local codes.
Provides preliminary sketches and cost estimates for project
materials and services.
Tests new and existing power and control systems to ensure safe and
correct operation.
Observes equipment in operation to prevent/diagnose potential
problems and recommend areas to improve efficiency.
Inspects power and control systems to identify hazards, defects,
problems, and code compliance.
Assists with the development of effective job plans for electrical
safety and compliance. Updates PMs and work instructions to ensure
alignment with organizational standards.
Develops and maintains maintenance logs. Completes work orders in a
safe and timely manner while ensuring quality standards are met and
utilizing proper tools to fix equipment.
Troubleshooting
Troubleshoots existing electrical systems and circuits utilizing
knowledge and experience to assist in process and mechanical
troubleshooting.
Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical
wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using test equipment such as a
multi-meter for fault detection and analysis.
Reads, interprets, and maintains (as needed) P&IDs and
schematic wiring diagrams.
Performs root cause analysis on failing systems.
Conducts necessary functional tests using such equipment as
ammeters, voltmeters, multimeters, computerized diagnostic
equipment, oscilloscopes, and other related equipment to ensure
such equipment operates to the required specifications.
Reliability
Establishes new procedures where necessary to ensure reliability
and efficiency.
Evaluates maintenance program performance and recommend/execute
preventive maintenance routines, condition monitoring, and
predictive maintenance analytics.
Recommends spare part inventory for critical I&E
components.
Provides I&E training for shift team members to build
capability within the team
Project Work
Provides support in specification and procurement of electrical
components.
Collaborates with technicians of other disciplines in project
meetings and during project execution and commissioning. Assists in
commissioning new systems.
Updates instrumentation installation drawings, data sheets, and
specifications.
Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); at least 5
years of related experience and/or training. Must have strong
working knowledge of industrial power and control systems. Must
have familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
Completion of a trade school program or apprenticeship in the
electrical field preferred.
License, associates degree or certification in electrical systems.
Must have a minimum of 3 years directly related experience in an
industrial setting.
Experience completing CMMS driven work is required.
Proficiency with automation/instrumentation systems is
required.
Must have strong understanding of Electrical safety, including Arc
Flash PPE and Hazardous Locations requirements.
Must be able to read/understand Piping and Instrumentation Drawings
in order to identify instruments and control loops.
Must be able to read control wiring loop sheets, electrical ladder
and single line diagrams. Also, must be capable of redlining these
drawings.
Experience with instrument calibration is a plus.
Must be able to use a multi-meter to safety and effectively
troubleshoot electrical systems.
Understanding of Ethernet/IP is desired. Modbus TCP knowledge a
plus.
Knowledge and interpretation of National Electric Code, knowledge
of IEEE standards and knowledge of UL508A a plus.
Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to author routine reports and correspondence. Ability to
speak effectively with team members.

Compensation, Benefits & Perks
Pay Range: $27.50/hr. - $34.50/hr.
Annual Bonus Plan: 2.5%
