Orion Talent is helping a client hire a Service Technician in Escondido, CA
Job Description:
The service technician installs, repairs, maintains, and services industrial and commercial HVAC systems. The technician must be able to assist with repairing and calibrating systems along with proficient at replacing various components such as motors, pulleys, compressors, transformers, thermostats, and other mechanical components.
The position will require the diagnosis of problems and explaining these issues to customers in clear, non-technical terms, relay costs to customers, and offer alternative solutions. The technician will order and collect parts once customer gives approval and communicate with supervisor regarding challenges and costs. Top candidates are detail-oriented, organized, and friendly. This position reports to the service manager.
Responsibilities:
--- Cleaning, adjusting and repairing HVAC systems, and performing warranty services.
--- Troubleshooting defective HVAC systems, equipment, and controls to make diagnoses.
--- Performing preventative maintenance by cleaning boilers, coils, cooling towers, fans, air handling units, chillers, VFD's, packaged units, split systems, and other similar HVAC equipment as well as replacing filters.
--- Monitoring and calibrating commercial and industrial HVAC equipment as listed above.
*If you have a military electronics/avionics background and are comfortable with high voltage or a military electrical background, you will be perfect for the position.
Education:
Required: High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
Desired but not required: Post-Secondary Certificate - awarded for training completed after high school (for example, in Personnel Services, Engineering-related Technologies, Vocational Home Economics, Construction Trades, Mechanics and Repairers, Precision Production Trades)
Location: Escondido, CA. There is no travel other than local Travel
Compensation: Tech 1/apprentice level- $25-$28/hr. Tech 2 -$30-$32/hr Tech 3- $35-$40/hr. there is an average of 5 hours of overtime a week with this position.
