work that you do.Job OverviewThis is a union position.North County
Serenity House Outpatient Program provides a gender responsive,
trauma informed approach to assist our participants in recovery,
relationships and relapse prevention. Our comprehensive program
includes therapy, psycho education classes, counseling groups,
advocacy, onsite daycare, homeless supportive services and exit
planning. We believe in individualizing participants' treatment
based on their need and what works best for them. Our hope for
every woman is that they are able to improve their quality of life,
establish a support system and develop healthy coping skills.We are
funded through the County of San Diego Health and Human Services
Agency. North County Serenity House is also a proud partner of Live
Well San Diego.Overnight Monitors are responsible for maintaining
and assessing the safety and security of the program and residents
throughout the night while providing a supportive treatment
environment. Through effective communication, Overnight Monitors
relay relevant information to other members of the
interdisciplinary team and performs crisis intervention as needed.
Overnight Monitors ensure that the treatment environment is safe
and welcoming.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety and Security
Responsibilities: Remains alert and awake during the entire
overnight shift. Performs hourly facility and room checks to ensure
and maintain accountability of all participants and the safety and
security of the facility. Coordinates emergency drills with
participants. Performs crisis intervention and communicates with
treatment team as unforeseen situations arise. Performs CPR and
First Aid as needed. May work weekends and holidays as
needed.Documentation Responsibilities: Documents participant
updates and incidents in the Welligent and facility log nightly.
Completes an absent without leave (AWOL) and AWOL retraction
reports as needed. Updates tracking log with newly enrolled and
discharged participants and sends to the appropriate departments
before the end of the shift. Updates bed roster when needed to
ensure all participants are in the correct bed. Maintains accurate
records by data entering documentation into various electronic
systems for all participants in accordance with guidelines
established by HealthRIGHT 360, HIPAA, 42CFR, Drug Medi-cal and
funder standards to satisfy internal and external evaluating
requirements. Assist in ongoing maintenance of participants' charts
and other related documentation. Uploads all medication logs,
medication Centrally Stored Medication and Destruction Record, UA
logs, UA lab results and controlled count logs to counselors as
participants discharge or at the end of every month. Creates and
updates all medication logs to reflect current medications. Ensures
that all clinical documentation is completed in a timely and
accurate manner, and entered into the various electronic systems.
Review notes for billing accuracy.General Responsibilities:
Overnight monitor will support the medical team when needed to
ensure participant medication is securely stored and properly
accounted for. Ensures that the laundry room is locked at the
appropriate hour and locks all group room doors around the
facility. Responsible for re-stocking supplies in bathrooms, Health
and Wellness Room and the Administrative Office. Check phone
message on both the duty phone and the landline phone and forward
to appropriate staff or email staff with information. Responsible
for checking passes and sign out logs nightly. Inform program staff
of any pass discrepancies, late arrivals, etc. Check all UA results
for the day and send out email with positive and negative results.
Assist the medical team with medication box audits. Comply with
agency's policies and procedures. Arrange work schedule in
accordance with agency's needs which may include weekends and
holidays. Meet expected performance standards as assigned by
supervisor. Attends and completes required trainings and
meetings.And, other duties as assigned.Education and Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities--- Registration with Drug and Alcohol
Certification recognized by Department of Health Care Services
(DHCS).--- High School diploma or equivalent.--- First Aid
Certified within 30 days of employment.--- CPR Certified within 30
days of employment.--- A valid California driver's license and
automobile insurance.--- Must not be on active parole or
probation.--- Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse
population.--- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office
applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet
applications.--- Experience working successfully with issues of
substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other
potential barriers to economic self sufficiency.--- High degree of
self-awareness and self-regulation.--- Acts with a sense of urgency
to ensure the highest quality of care possible for our
participants.--- Ability and willingness to learn new systems,
topics, and methods.We will consider for employment qualified
applicants with arrest and conviction records.In compliance with
the California Department of Public Health's mandate, all employees
must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Medical and
religious exemptions are available.
