The Internal Employee Communications Specialist supports the
efforts of NHcare's employee experience programs to build a
"patients first, employees always" mentality while at the same time
guiding internal communications to support change management and
key initiatives. Working together with the Director of Employee
Experience, Marketing, HR and L&D, the Internal Employee
Communications Specialist will impact key aspects of the employee
experience from orientation to ongoing feedback and communication
in order to foster an open and encouraging culture.
Requirements
Partners with the Director of Employee Experience to create and
execute cross-channel communication plans (email, intranet, print,
etc.) that support HR and organization-wide programs (e.g. open
enrollment, performance management, professional development,
strategic initiatives, and more).
Collaborates with internal stakeholders to further develop and
refine our employee communications voice, consistent with the
Neighborhood Healthcare brand, and partners with the organization
to ensure communications stay within brand guidelines.
Reviews content suggestions/recommendations from fellow colleagues
for appropriateness and to ensure that the messaging aligns and
adheres to NHC's brand. Works with internal customers to shape
their messaging to be employee-centric. Ensures consistent framing
of messages across all mediums and for different departments across
the organization.
Coordinates, paces and prioritizes competing and pressing
communications needs and messages from across the organization so
as to ensure the most effective and streamlined experience for NHC
employees.
Partner with Talent Acquisition Team to increase awareness of
internal opportunities to current employees as well as be the voice
of Neighborhood for responses to candidates and others on social
media platforms like Glassdoor, Indeed, etc.
Manages and maintains an internal messaging and content calendar
that drives employee engagement.
Manages and maintains NHC internal communication platform channels,
utilizing Microsoft Teams, our employee intranet (Sharepoint), HRIS
system, social media, etc.
Administers and deploys technologies and solutions that support
internal communications. Assists in content management and
permissions management as needed.
Participates on major projects, including new technology
initiatives, learning and development, and others to support
employee engagement communications.
Provides tactical support and documentation for key change
management efforts, such as enterprise-wide technology training or
continuous learning mechanisms (e.g. customer service
training).
Creates and/or reviews communications materials tailored to
multiple audiences and sensitive to organizational change dynamics.
Materials may include emails, announcements, articles, job aids,
SharePoint content, presentations, staff meeting segments, videos,
trainings, etc.
Creates and develops media content for print, social media, events,
presentations and other purposes.
Manages organization-wide communication programs (e.g. newsletters,
leadership updates, announcements, etc.)
Partners with the Director of Employee Experience in capturing the
voice and pulse of the employees (e.g. surveys, site visits, focus
groups) in order to gather feedback and make communications most
effective.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferably in Training, Public Relations,
Marketing, Human Resources, Communications, Psychology, Humanities
or similar field of study or equivalent experience.
At least three years of professional experience in public
relations, marketing or communications teams. Experience in a
healthcare setting preferred but not required. Leadership
experience preferred. Demonstrated experience producing
organization-wide communications and communications strategies.
Demonstrated knowledge of internal corporate communication
management best practices. Working knowledge of web-based
communication and project management tools such as MailChimp,
Smartsheet, etc.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and knack for
adapting style based on the message, audience, and voice.
Strong writing and editing skills; must be proficient in many
writing styles. Writing samples will be requested.
Aptitude for digesting raw information and transforming it into
clear messaging that emphasizes the impact, value and action for
employees.
Experience utilizing/producing/editing a variety of print and
digital media (posters, graphics, photo, video, social, etc.) to
ensure effective communication.
Proficiency in communications software, Microsoft Office Suite and
Adobe Creative Suite.
Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple
priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Results-oriented, self-starter able to learn quickly and to link
business challenges and objectives with tactical execution and
results.
Strong interpersonal skills, customer focus, ability to speak
effectively before groups, and quickly build rapport and trust.
Facilitation with audiences of various sizes including employees
with all levels of experience up through executive management.
May travel to other NHcare sites for training or meetings. Must
have reliable transportation, CA driver's license and proof of
insurance.
Neighborhood Healthcare requires employees to be fully vaccinated
(including a booster dose) against COVID-1 and demonstrate proof of
vaccination/booster upon hire or receive approval for an exemption
based on a medical reason, disability or religious belief. Proof of
booster dose will be contingent upon booster eligibility.
