Apply Description East County Regional RN Supervisor Job Description: This is a full time position and The RN Supervisor will continue to perform routine RN duties (See RN job description) on the floor 50% of the time and RN Supervisor (.5FTE) duties as listed below. Some of these duties will be delegated to other staff RNs. This position is an exempt/salaried position and will provide support to and management of the RNs at the following sites: El Cajon, Lakeside, Poway and 2 sites in Escondido. Current RN Duties per RN job description Additional duties as RN supervisor: 1. Oversight for the Immunization program and work with the Immunization Coordinators to assure systems are in place and procedures followed to assure safe, accurate and efficient delivery of immunizations and appropriate management of VFC/VFA/State programs as well as private/purchased vaccine; 2. Provide oversite for, but delegate tasks of various programs, ie Coumadin, LTBI follow up programs 3. Provide oversite for other RNs including management of RN workflows, assignments, staff schedules, time off requests. Monthly RN schedules will be delegated to another RN. 4. Provide ongoing staff mentoring and training, identification of needed process change and development and implementation of process changes. Will attend appropriate site meetings and leadership training as provided. 5. Assist with VFC, CHDP audits for staff as needed 6. Assist with issues such as vaccine excursions 7. Manage/Approve RN time cards, scheduling, replacement scheduling/ coverage as needed 8. Standardize processes where/when possible at assigned sites as well as share/implement standardization and effective processes with other RN Supervisors 9. Share/educate re new/revised/existing policies 10. Monthly RN meetings at assigned sites-with Cathy 11. Assist with Site's Routine NHC Pharmacy inspections, county and Facility inspections-ensuring Standards are met. providing staff training as needed re inspection results.* 12. Trouble shoot issues, develop relationships and work closely with CTL, Site Providers, Managers, CSS, all departments 13. Shadow assigned RNs at least once annually after first year to assess training/performance (approx. 2 hrs probably adequate), provide/arrange for identified training/retraining, obtain info for annual reviews. (more frequently during first year of hire) 14. Complete and conduct annual RN evaluations 15. RN hiring performance issues (with DON) 16. Take lead role in ongoing training and follow up of new hires after they complete initial training with RN Trainer, complete Day One and Day 7 On site Training Check lists with new hires 17. Assure RN duties are delegated/completed appropriately, ie monthly RN schedule, RN Coumadin program, RN INH program, rapid onset/treatment of diabetes program, ongoing training of new RN hires, RN urgent calls from PNC and assigned Back Up RN duties 18. Act as a resource between departments to enhance/assure effective communication between all departments, ie with Providers, MAs, OPS/management, front office, billing, etc. 19. Attend required Supervisor meetings: monthly RN Supervisor/DON meetings, Manager and Supervisor HR meetings, FOBO and other meetings as appropriate/assigned. 20. Participate in site specific/wide Process/Performance initiatives 21. Develop/maintain integral relationships with Site Management/OPS and Providers 22. Keep DON informed, up to date with the above 23. Assist to bridge the gap with public health, state and county departments, other organizations and resources; utilize resources as needed for situations such as infection control, disease management. 24. Performance Improvement /Disciplinary/Corrective Actions (with Cathy) 25. Assure that quality customer service is provided to both internal and external customers (ie staff, patients). 26. Take the lead in assuring all assigned sites are prepared/compliant with all Infection Control P/Ps, including prevention strategies for such infectious diseases as Measles, COVID-19, Tuberculosis. Requirements Required Skills and Qualifications: CA Registered Nurse license and BLS certification, at least 2 years RN experience: Excellent Nursing assessment and critical thinking skills, excellent communication, conflict resolution and leadership skills; ability to work with diverse patient populations and the clinical care team to promote optimal patient health and enhanced team work environment. Proficient with electronic health records. This is a full time position. Preferred Education and Experience: At least 2 years RN experience, preferably in ER, outpatient or general medicine. Bilingual Arabic or Spanish preferred by not required.
