Projects (22000473) Director of Field Operations - National
Projects - ( 22000473 ) SUMMARY: -
The Director of Regional Field Operations is responsible to ensure
the company's everyday field operational activities run safely,
smoothly and effectively. The director is responsible to assure
that required standard field operations are being followed within
the region. This includes the oversight and management of the BIM
department, Purchasing department, Warehouse and Prefabrication
departments, construction tools and equipment, field training
activities, Craft Training Days and field vehicles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
--- Works with Training and Development team to ensure needed
training and certificates (licenses) are completed.
--- Monitors codes and specifications, installation methods.
Maintains thorough knowledge of the systems and equipment being
installed.
--- Creates a team environment: a positive, well-organized,
proactive force to support profit and growth of the Company.
BIM Department
--- Coordinate assignment of BIM Project Managers/Coordinators on
all projects by participating in the project startup process and
facilitating communication between the BIM Department Manager,
Superintendent(s), Operations Manager and Preconstruction Manager.

--- Direct management of the BIM department supervisor(s).
--- Determine BIM requirements on all projects to develop
deliverables and deadlines for each project and facilitate the
management and communication of the BIM progress on projects.
--- integrate BIM into the project startup process and monthly
project reviews to ensure BIM utilization is optimized. -
--- Facilitate cost analysis, goal setting and budget development
for utilization of BIM on projects. Oversight of decisions on what
scope should involve the BIM department for installation
drawings.
--- Assure the drawings and information that the BIM department is
sending to the field for accuracy and timelines.
Workforce Forecasting
--- Submit required workforce forecasts -
--- Coordinate hiring and termination needs with Human Resources.
This includes participating in any discussions and decisions
regarding field hiring and terminations. -
--- Finalize Workforce Report after submission of needs from
Operations Manager.
--- Final review and approval of Workforce Summary and coordinate
hiring requirements with Human Resources.

Training
--- Manage regional training calendar and assist with coordination
of regional field training including Superintendent Training,
Foreman Training, Leadman Training, Journeyman Training,
Apprentice/Electrical Trainee Training, and supplemental training
events such as Craft Training Days, Code Updates, etc.
--- Facilitate 2-3 Foreman training/gathering per year. 2 training
meetings and 1 Foreman recognition gathering. -
Prefabrication & Warehouse
--- Direct management of prefabrication shop supervisor(s) and
indirect oversight of tooling and facilities to meet the needs of
the region. -
--- Facilitate cost and budget analysis, goal setting and budget
development for utilization of prefabrication on projects,
including both assembled and purchased components. -
--- Assure the utilization of pre-fabrication within the
region.
Tools
--- Approve all regional tool purchases and facilitate budget
submission process through Regional Vice President.
--- Approve all regional tool repairs in excess of $250.
--- Maintain accurate tool tracking for all tools on all projects
within the region. -
Field Operations
--- Quality assurance and quality control of program -
compliance
--- Work closely with the Regional Safety Manager to maintain a
safe work environment in the field.
--- Facilitate field wage reviews and collaborate with Operations
Managers and make wage adjustment recommendations to be approved by
Regional Vice President. Compliance with wage and hour
requirements. -
--- Management and submission of Wage Banding process.
--- Review labor tracking and identify potential labor risks on
projects and report to the Regional Vice President. -
--- Facilitate regional labor recognition events including annual
field Leadership recognition dinner, jobsite recognition BBQ's /
lunches / breakfasts, and other morale building events. -
--- Management of apprenticeship relationship - Active
participation (Board of Directors & committees) with our labor
organizations such as ABC, WECA, etc.
--- Means and methods; best practices
--- Project audits - material, tools, equipment rentals, etc. -
Human Resources
--- Manage Human Resources Recruiter.
--- Attend interviews for Foreman and above positions.
Purchasing
--- Purchasing Manager supervision
--- Deliveries
--- Bulk Buys
Regular Deliverables
--- BIM deliverable tracking (Worksheet and/or BIM 360) or similar
report. -
--- Monthly field wage recommendations.
--- Regional training matrix / tracking.
--- Performance evaluations (semi-annual) for BIM Department
Manager, Prefabrication Manager, Tool Manager, and Warehouse
Manager.
--- Budget requests.
Scorecards
--- Labor Performance

--- Prefab - Hours in Prefab vs. hours used in field Core
Metrics
--- Percentage (%) of projects that meet labor budget (in
dollars)

--- Dollars spent on Prefabrication vs. dollars saved in field

--- Regional field labor turnover rate
--- Positive perception reports of BIM and Prefabrication
operations from Field Supervisors REQUIREMENTS: -
--- Minimum of 10 years of experience within Construction
Management and Administration.
--- Strong knowledge of materials, methods, and tools required for
electrical construction. -
--- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
--- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manager or director level
role is preferred.
--- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word & Excel) plus
Microsoft Project. Bluebeam, Smartsheet and other similar competing
programs. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
--- The physical demands described here are representative of those

--- Utilize ladders, man lifts or reach booms.
--- Stand for long periods of time.
--- Full squats, stoop or kneeling. WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
--- This role operates in a professional office environment at
times and routinely uses standard office equipment such as
computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
--- There may be a variety of weather conditions while on jobsites
such as rain, snow, heat.
--- There may be high noise levels while on jobsites. The
