Job Description Estimator – Drywall & Framing | Escondido, CA A well-established drywall and framing contractor based in Escondido is looking to add an Estimator to their growing team. About the Role The Estimator will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates for drywall and wood framing projects. The company is seeking someone who can hit the ground running, bring strong local market knowledge, and add value right away. You’ll work on a wide range of projects from commercial buildings to multifamily developments. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for drywall and framing scopes. Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to ensure full understanding of project requirements. Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and trade partners regarding project scope and budget. Identify cost efficiencies, value-engineering options, and potential risks. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors. Support post-bid reviews, budget updates, and project handoff documentation. Requirements Minimum 3 years of experience estimating wood framing projects. Must have prior experience working for a drywall subcontractor or self-performing general contractor handling drywall scopes. Experience estimating both commercial and residential drywall and framing projects is strongly preferred. Familiarity with the Southern California construction market and pricing trends is preferred. Proficiency with estimating software and strong analytical skills. Excellent communication, organization, and time management abilities.
