to have you.ROLE OVERVIEW and PURPOSEThe Billing Eligibility
Specialist works to support the mission and vision of Neighborhood
Healthcare (NHC) by assisting patients with insurance eligibility
issues. This role will confirm and work with patients to resolve
billing and insurance related issues. In addition, this role will
manage the insurance verification and eligibility functions in
eCW.RESPONSIBILITIESCompletes insurance verifications and places
electronic notes in eCW accurately and timelyPerforms batch and
individual eligibility verifications utilizing the Insurance
Eligibility (IE) function in eCWSubmits electronic insurance
verifications through eCW, insurance website portals, or calls
insurance companies to inquire about eligibility, benefits
information, and payment for servicesMaintains knowledge of all
contracted insurances and programs accepted at NHCProvides direct
support to clinics regarding eligibility inquiriesValidates
insurance eligibility, benefits, and financial information required
for billing and collection processesCompletes a high volume of
benefit verification requestsInitiates three-way calls with
patients and insurance carriers to perform primary care provider
(PCP) changesInforms patients of their benefits and financial
responsibilities, as neededApplies Sliding Fee Discount Program
(SFDP) discounts to patient changes, as necessaryValidates
declaration of income documentation is secured and validProvides
thorough customer service internally and externally with
professionalism, courtesy, and knowledgeParticipates in various
projects and team meetingsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCEHigh school
diploma/GED requiredOne year experience working with electronic
health record systems/eCW is preferredTwo years' medical front
office experience is preferredMedical Office Assistant
certification is preferredBilingual (English/Spanish) as required
by siteNeighborhood Healthcare requires employees to be fully
vaccinated (including a booster dose) against COVID-19 and
demonstrate proof of vaccination/booster upon hire or receive
approval for an exemption based on a medical reason, disability or
religious belief. Proof of booster dose will be contingent upon
booster eligibility.Pay Range: $19.00 to $23.00 per hour, Depends
on Experience (DOE)
