Under the supervision of the Director of Reporting and Analytics,
the Grants Accountant is responsible for compiling and recording
grant related transactions in a timely and auditable manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for grants management, including review of grant
contracts, preparing budgets, invoices, and other related reports
for grants.
Stay in constant communication with Director of Grants, Director of
Reporting and Analytics, and Project Managers.
Properly track expense usage for grants including salary
allocations.
Responsible for various grant audits and providing all supporting
documentation.
Prepare regular contract invoices and other special projects
invoices.
Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reporting.
Compile and record to the general ledger journal entries in a
timely manner.
Daily review of cash deposits and billing payments to both the
accounts receivable and general ledger systems.
Responsible for the annual Property Tax exemption and Business
Statement filings with the county offices and various filing
requests from the Census office.
Will be the backup to the Staff Accountant position and other
Accounting and Analytics staff as needed.
Assist CFO, Controller, Director of Reporting and Analytics and
Accounting Manager with various projects as assigned.
Must have excellent analytical, problem solving, and forecasting
skills.
Required to exercise discretion and independent judgment under
appropriate circumstances.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills: Must be organized, accurate and detail-oriented; Advanced
knowledge of computer applications including Excel, Word and
Accounting software; Capable of making independent judgment and
show high initiative.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field is
required.
Experience: At least 2 years Accounting experience is required. 3-5
years grants or nonprofit experience preferred.
Neighborhood Healthcare requires employees to be fully vaccinated
(including a booster dose) against COVID-1 and demonstrate proof of
vaccination/booster upon hire or receive approval for an exemption
based on a medical reason, disability or religious belief. Proof of
booster dose will be contingent upon booster eligibility.
